Die Evil Spambots, Die!

I’ve been roundfiling spam from this blog(personal email account) for several months now and just today realized that all of the comments somehow were making it onto this site(viewable that is) instead of going into the moderation bin to await approval as they should have.

Problem fixed - it should be fine now(more or less - lol).  Oh, I obviously also found my password so I’ll be commenting here more often.

In this world of never-ending world crisis, inflating gas prices, and tragic accidents that nobody can explain, what is one to do? Where can we all turn to for support and inspiration?Â

Behold the glory and the awesomeness of the one true way to salvation!

Seriously, though. The guy has a point. Religion masquerading as science is no laughing matter. He started this as an attempt to make more people aware that if the idea of “intellignet design” is to be taken seriously, then ALL forms of God or supernatural or extraterrestrial influence also would naturally apply.
Point this out to the people who support “intellignet design”, though, and watch their blood boil. Then ask them if it only applies to one religion. The results and how easy it is to get them in a corner, since admitting it’s only about *christian* ideology/design(aka creationism) is the last thing they want to do, in amazingly entertaining.

There’s a reason church and state should remain seperate, afterall.

All hail it’s noodly glory!!!

So after a long leave of absence, Will finally got the blog working again - and it’s interesting that the topic that came to mind, having not updated my blog in almost exactly a year, was exactly the same one I left off with. Go figure :)

So I guess this is an update of sorts. Let’s see how it is 12 months later.

http://www.rense.com/general37/char.htm

How many fit the U.S. currently? It used to be 9-10 a year ago. Now, it’s 11-12. #8 and #11 are all that are left relatively untouched.

#5, rampant sexism, is debateable, but in light of how huge an issue they make Gay Marriage and simmilar issues, like how the government sees itself as more valid than the parent in making decisions - it’s easily halfway there.

#8 is - well, they are trying hard to get as much religion as possible - so it’s maybe 1/3 the way there(still solidly less religous as it should be). Thankfully every so often someone liek Mr. Robertson makes an ass of himself and sets their work back a few steps.

#11 is pretty much untouched - they are currently co-opting the intelectuals to serve as “experts” and so on, or they are ignored by the media. Easier to marginalize them due to their close ties to the media.

But the trend is clear. I firmly believe that the U.S. is heading towards a disaster of its own making. Those that save, plan, and live within their means will ride it out. The rest probably won’t. Now, I’m not trying to be negative, so much as dealing with the reality of decades of bad policies by our leaders. It’s coming, and thankfully, we have about a decade or so before it happens.
That’s plenty of time to batten down the hatches.Â
Plus, as I’m fond of saying, there’s no sin in retiring to Tuscany. :)

Fourteen Signs of Fascism

Fourteen Signs of Fascism

This is an article by a well-respected professor. What I found interesting was the number of these which our government over the last 30 years or so, has already accomplished. Democrat or Republican - they’re both sides of the same dirty coin.

I count ten out of the fourteen that we’re already guilty of, making our government in a position of what I deem to be an irrecoverable decline into a state-run society.

The only question remains: do I stay and try to salvage anything from this mess before it implodes, or do I move to a place where there’s at least some future for the working class? I’m somewhat undecided on this, but it’s clear that as nice as America is, the people running it are destroying the ability of the common person’s ability to live a decent life. If history is any indication, the only two outcomes are a supression of the working classes and common man, or a revolution. Given our government’s size and power, I doubt that we are in any position to win should it come to that, so effectively it’s only one option. More of the same.

The only real question is how long will it take to become that way?

Behind The War On Terror

Behind The War On Terror

I heard this person talking on the radio yesterday and he has what I think is the most concise and factual account of how and why the last century of conflict in the Middle East has been fueled by greed and a desire by our leaders to control the oil and resources in the area.

I’m getting the book - it looks to be worth reading.

House Database of Verified Bush Administration Lies

All the information you need to know about what they said. This is an actual effort by a Representative to make a factual database of actual lies by the current administration, as opposed to half-truths and bad facts and intelligence, which have been purposely omitted. This is as unbiased and rational as it gets, and is on the House of Representatives own website.

IMO, this is the best single database out there that shows that the current administration is not just lying, but is actively trying to subvert the democratic process for their own personal and political gain. IMO, every one of these people should be arrested and tried for criminal activity.

They are really no different that the robber barons of a hundred years ago - and the level at which they are unashamedly pillaging everything in their path is apalling.

Yet people still vote for them because the media is in bed with them and know only what they are told.

Bill Moyers on Freedom of the Press
An amazing exerpt of Bill Moyers on how the media and government are destroying our free press and thereby our system of democracy.

Democracy Now
Read the headlines for May 13. This is a serious assault on our personal freedoms and isn’t some behind the scenes conspiracy, either - it’s bold, and in our faces. Nixon had nothing on these people in terms of lying, and McCarthy in his dreams couldn’t have imagined a better outcome.

Headlines:
- CIA Sets Up Secret Detention Centers “To Make People Disappear”
- Powell: Bush & Rumsfeld Saw Red Cross Prison Reports

And it just goes on month after month like this. Not a few isolated problems, but hundreds of apalling violations of the ideals that our country was founded upon.

A few other gems from the last month alone:
- U.S. Assassinates Two Shiite Clerics Organizing Nonviolent Resistance
- Cheney Secrecy Case: Is the Supreme Court Allowing the US to Turn Into an Elected Dictatorship?
- Supreme Court Grills Gov’t Over Guantanamo Bay Detentions
- Did Bush Cut Secret Oil Deal With Saudis Ahead of 2004 Election?
- Bush Appoints Negroponte Iraq Ambassador

And it goes on and on.

I personally applaud Will for contributing to Kerry’s campaign, as even if he is part of the same group that is creating the current mess, the reality is that party politics and infighting will cause the Republican controlled Senate and House to stonewall the executive office, which may give us time to reign them in or at least keep the damage to lower levels.

When you have a choice between two bad candidates, the right thing to do is to change the power structure as often as possible to limit the damage until a good one(hopefully) comes along. Kerry(or Gore) would at least have not managed to get our allies angry at us and burnt so many political bridges with potential partners and countries that we are hoping to help become more democratic. At least Kerry won’t stick his foot in his mouth every other week and tarnish our image even further. That’s why I support him - he at least will know when to keep his mouth shut and work with our allies.

(after reading the archive above of verified lies)
I no longer view anyone who can vote for Bush to be an intelligent or informed person. Sorry - it’s almost like trying to talk to a flat-earther. At a certain level, their lack of enlightenment is insurmountable. They just fail the litmus test for rational thought and objectivity and are pointless to even talk to most of the time. It’s like trying to convince a cat that planes can fly.

I don’t even talk to my parents about politics anymore because I see them as all but defective mentally because of their blind faith in their party-approved leader. They *literally* see no evil and hear no evil, even though they plainly can see the facts in front of them and also lived through Nixon and other corrupt administrations and should know better. So, like the flat-earther kook - they aren’t enlightened enough to have a rational discussion with anymore. Yes, they also listen to Rush Limbaugh, as expected. Sigh.

Smoking Guns and Revenge

This is the best, most concise explination of what happened with 9/11 that I’ve run across to date.

I almost hope in a perverse way that Bush wins so that they can impeach him and Cheney. I’d be happy with the Speaker of the House as President just to see it happen.(still voting for Kerry, though)
